The Fuddrucker Thing

Hey, writers.  I have to tell you all about something I call Fuddruckers or The Fuddrucker Thing.  Also, get ready for a lot of positive vibes for Mission Impossible.  Yessssss.

Let’s do this.

Hit the jump, and let’s discuss.

There are certain things that I like and there are certain things that I love.  For instance, I enjoy eating a good musubi (rice in the shape of a ball or rectangle with some meat on the side).  I also love some good Italian food.

Then…there’s Fuddruckers.  So Fuddruckers is relatively new to me.  For clarity, yes it’s that place that serves burgers.  Here’s an excerpt from their website:

“At Fuddruckers, we proudly serve The World’s Greatest Hamburgers, some assembly required. It all starts with fresh — never frozen — 100% USDA All-American, premium-cut beef. It’s grilled when you order and placed on a Fuddruckers scratch-baked bun that is made fresh daily on-site.”

Before I got my food I remember thinking it would just be a normal dining experience.  Then I saw the machine that lets you mix your own drinks.  (Keep in mind, that I’m not even a soft drink person.  (I almost always order water.) And I was still hyped.)  Then you can load up on nacho cheese at that place the way you can get ketchup at a normal restaurant.  And…I didn’t know I loved nacho cheese that much. Few things are as good as nacho cheese on onion rings.

And on top of that, you can load up on vegetables.  A normal person puts a slice of lettuce with their burger, but I…I took the road less traveled.  I was told repeatedly that I could get as much greenery as I wanted…and so I did.

It was ridiculous.

In my mind, I was just enjoying my food.  But then I was told I was visibly (and whole-heartedly and emphatically)  enjoying my food.  Like, “Dude…I’ve never seen you eat food like this.”

It wasn’t just hunger. I just kept eating.  I love greenery and I love a good burger.  I was living the enjoyment.

Then it dawned on me that there isn’t actually any other restaurant that elicits that response out of me.

So yeah.  I call that The Fuddrucker Thing.

Lights, Camera

I have seen a lot of Marvel movies.  To put it another way, there are a lot of Marvel movies.  No joke, I saw a video that combined all the Marvel movie trailers and that thing clocked in at 52+ minutes.

I like those movies.  And I even enjoy those movies.  But there came a point where I started to just…kind of…enjoy those movies.  Don’t get me wrong, I still do, and I still will, watch more of them.

Then there’s Mission Impossible:  Fallout.  To this day when I watch the Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) – Official Trailer I still feel my blood pumping.

That movie, is straight Fuddrucker levels.

At some point there will be another Mission Impossible movie, and I would gladly pay literally five times the normal price of a normal movie ticket to see that movie.

Writers, I’m working on something.  It’s a huge project.  I was tempted to put things into the banner that hinted what I’m working on, but for now I’m leaving it simple. This new, huge project has been eating all of my free time lately.

So today’s mini-Lesson (which one could argue is my biggest and best lesson), is all about nurturing the soul.

When I’m feeling down or just feeling like a pick-me-up I watch/do certain things.  Today I watched Everything GREAT About Mission: Impossible – Fallout! (by CinemaWins)

Just watching this thing made me feel instantly better.  My friend Peanut Butter used to make fun of me.  He once asked me, “Hey, what’s up?”  And I responded that I was working on something.  To which Peanut Butter said, “Man, you’re always working on something.”

That’s the truth.  Few things pull my attention from my [current, biggest project].

But after watching that CinemaWins video, I just had to post.

Writers, if you don’t have a list of things that you can do or watch or listen to to make you feel better, I highly encourage you to create one now.

(Try to stay away from food though, that can lead down a dark path.)

My question today is

Do you have something that reaches Fuddrucker Level for you?

Aloha,
Alvin

(Quick aside:  Deadpool, still best movie of all time.  Had to pepper that in there.  But it’s still not quite Fuddrucker-y.)
